This article is about Li Ching Yuen, a person who reached an age of incredible 256 years according to documents which were discovered in the past and records shown by Wu Chung-Chieh, a professor at the Chengdu University. There are even claims by young boys who knew him as an old person at the beginning of the 20th century.
Li Ching Yuen was interested in herbs at very early age. He collected herbs and mastered his knowledge in this field. He became very experienced and particularly familiar with herbs such as lingzhi, goji berry, wild ginseng, he shoo wu, gotu kola, and rice wine.
Later in his seventies he worked as a teacher of martial arts in the Chinese army. It is believed that people loved him, he married more than 20 times and had more than 200 children. He travelled a lot and as early as in his childhood he had visited Kansu, Shansi, Tibet, Annam, Siam, and Manchuria. He continued to sell herbs after the age of 100.
One of Li’s students had stated that there was an older, 500-year-old man, who was Li’s master for Qigong exercises and an advisor in the field of nutrition.
Before he died, he was asked about the secret of his longevity. He answered that he fulfilled all his needs and desires, and he did everything he wanted in life, and this is what made him live longer. He described this through the patience of a turtle, the movement of a pigeon and the sleep of the dog.
This was stated by Wu Pei-fu, the warlord. He also shared the secret that tranquility and peace of the mind, in accordance with appropriate breathing methods, will inevitably prolong your life.
Still one thing is certain, his longevity was a result of his appropriate diet, however the real reason described by Li was his mindset.
This is exceptionally unbelievable, and still some people find it hard to believe because the average lifespan is quite low, especially in some countries in the world, and the very fact that someone can actually live more than 100 or 200 years is incredible.
Still, what we must consider is that many people are not exposed to any stressful situations; they do not live in polluted environments and physical exercise is an integral part of their lifestyle.
Furthermore, the quality of food is what strongly affects our health, and the consumption of fatty food, lots of sugars, fat, alcohol, tobacco, medications etc. is what caused health problems in the long run.
And the diet in some countries of the world, such as USA, is based on dangerous and harmful food.
Another recommendation is to spend as much time as possible in nature and in the sun, adhering to breathing techniques that positively affect the overall physical, emotional, and mental health.
This everyday practice will fill us with energy. However, most of us have this cosiness only while we are on a vacation. And still, some people’s lives are a constant vacation. Because they live in the mountains or by the sea, in particularly clean environment, and they practice an extremely healthy lifestyle.
“THE CONCLUSION IS TO TAKE A GOOD CARE OF OUR BODIES AND FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATIONS SUGGESTED HERE AND HOPEFULLY, WE WILL REACH VERY, VERY OLD AGE, TAKING CARE OF OUR GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.”
